About Laird
Laird McLean brings 30 years of experience as a visionary leader to his role as Chief Executive Officer of Proteus. Laird spearheaded the recent expansion of Proteus’ transformation offerings and is leading the firm through its next phase of growth by building change capability into all our services.
In his work with clients, Laird partners to bring positive results through his expertise in guiding organizational change, cultivating learning and development, and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of processes. His ability to listen actively, combined with his talent for distilling complex information down to a few key challenges makes him and the teams he leads valuable solution-focused partners our clients return to time and again.
Before joining Proteus as a partner, Laird co-founded McLean Global Consulting. Earlier in his career, he served as the Director of Global Learning and Development at Boston Scientific, a post that included supporting the Chief Technical and Chief Medical Officers. Laird also served as a change management consultant at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) where he helped clients plan for and address the human side of business transformations.
Laird has lived, worked, and studied in the USA, Canada, Japan, and Belgium, and has traveled to 25+ other countries. He speaks English, French, and some Japanese. With a Master’s and Ph.D. in Human Resource Development, Laird brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role at Proteus.
