Iván Cortés

Iván leads our work with multinationals and local corporations in Portugal and Spain. Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, he is a sought-after facilitator, trainer-of-trainers, and human performance consultant known for helping leaders translate strategy into practical action across cultures and contexts.

Before joining Proteus in 2012, Iván worked for Citibank Latin America as Sales Effectiveness Training VP and as an engineer with Ingersoll-Rand and Canada Wire. For 30+ years, he has taught at prestigious universities in Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, and Australia as an adjunct professor in Engineering, MBA, and Executive Education programs.

Iván has worked with C-Level executives, middle management, and individual contributors in banking, insurance, telco, data analytics, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, medical devices, cemetery, and consumer goods industries in 50+ countries, including Canada, the U.S., all of Latin America, and multiple European and Asian countries. He is comfortable working with international and cross-cultural organizations, and clients value his energetic presence, cultural fluency, and ability to make complex concepts simple and actionable.

He currently lives in Portugal, and previously in Colombia, Brazil, the U.S., and Chile.  

Iván holds a M.Sc. in Instructional Systems Design, an MBA, and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. He received the Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) designation by ISPI, and he is a TRACOM Master Certified SOCIAL STYLE instructor.
